A new season is starting, new regulations, new power units, and a new generation to Formula 1. It means new battles, bold stratergies and plenty of unpredictable moments. From title contendors to underdog drivers and teams, here are my predictions for the 2026 Season!

Who is going to be the 2026 Champion?

A question in the minds of all the Formula 1 fans, who will win the championship in 2026?

This year's regulations can show us the adaptability of the drivers style which they have mastered as their own over their years in Formula 1, I analyzed the drivers on the grid and got a few opinions from fans on whom they think will win the championship this year and here and the most predicted championship title contenders of 2026:

1. George Russell

2. George Russell is one of the top predicted Championship contender. The driver for Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team might have a shot at the championship this year. After getting into Formula 1 in 2019, debuting from Williams F1 Team and joining Mercedesin 2022, George has proved his place in the Formula 1 Grid and has also delivered breath taking results for the teams as well as himself.

3. He got on 9 Podiums in 2025 with winning the Canadian and Singapore Grand Prix and ending the season by finshing 4th in the Championship. Showing that he was one of the best drivers in 2025 and if Mercedes will give him a good car, he might end up winning the championship.

4. If everything aligns correctly, he might be the world champion in 2026.

6. Lewis Hamilton

7. Lewis Hamilton, the 7 time World Champion had the worst year of his career in 2025 after joining Ferrari from Mercedes. But although his debuting Ferrari season was just agonizing, the Bahrain and Barcelona, Testing and Shakedown has proved to us that he might just be returning with amazing results and who knows, even an 8th World Championship. Fans and even a few of the drivers on the 2026 grid have said that the 2026 regulation can support Hamilton's driving style and he might just be returning to his prime.

9. Charles Leclerc

10. Charles Leclerc, the Prince of Monaco and the lead driver for Ferrari F1 team has also showed us after the Pre-Season Testing that he could be fighting for the championship in 2026 with just the right car. He has already proved many times that with just the right competitive car he can perform wonders and with such great talent, he can possibly look for having great results in 2026 and also a shot at the championship.

13. You simply can't talk about the Formula 1 Championship fight without mentioning Max Verstappen. With his ability to adapt, the new regulation cars might just be right to put him in the fight AGAIN. Although, this season can be a little different for Max as GP and Chritian Horner have exited the Formula 1 pits with whom he had amazing past experiences and also winning a 4 time World Championship. After losing the 2026 championship by just 2 points, and delivering a solid second half of the 2025 season, he might be looking upto coming back in 2026.

16. The 2025 World Champion, Lando Norris, driver for McLaren F1 Team has given his best last season to end up with winning the championship by the end and also ending up with 7 race wins, 18 podium finishes and 7 pole positions. There's no doubt that he will fight for another championship and if McLaren gives him another great car this season, he might be World Champion, again.

18. Oscar Piastri

19. Oscar Piastri, ended the 2025 season with coming just behind Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. With him also delivering a great season with 7 Grand Prix wins and 16 podium finishes, and remaining at the front of the title fight from the start, he has proved that there isn't much time left until he becomes a World Champion.

Who will win the 2026 Constructor's Championship?

1. With the new regulations, new power unit, new chassis and an increase in the electrical power, all the teams will have to start from scratch and build up their momentum. Apart from technical aspects, the team needs a good driver and driver and team cordination to finish at the top of the title fight for Constructor's. 

2. While we cannot say anything to be exact on who will win the Constructor's in this new era until the first few races, here is a breakdown on which teams dominated the constructor's in the past years :

3. 2011-13 & 2022-23: Red Bull

4. Won by Sebastian Vettel winning the 2011, '12, '13 and Max Verstappen winning the 2022, '23 championship.

5. 2014-21: Mercedes

6. Won by Lewis Hamilton winning the 2014, '15, '17, '18, '19 and '20 and Nico Rosberg winning the 2016 championship.

7. 2024-25: McLaren

8. Won by Lando Norris winning the 2025 championship.

Conclusion

The 2026 season is going to be one of the most unpredictable season in the recent years and with the new regulations, it is very hard to speculate who's driving style will suit the current regulations and who's will not suit. The only thing that can be said for sure is that this season is not going to be easy for the drivers, teams as well as for the fans.
